What is better gel or acrylic nails?

I want to get my nails done for my sisters wedding and I'm not sure if i should get gel or acrylic nails. I am only getting them done for the wedding and am not planning to get them filled once they grow out because of cost. So which is better to get if I'm only wearing them till they fall off?


P.S. i know getting fake nails ruins your real nails but i really want them doneWhat is better gel or acrylic nails?

I would reccomend gel ones they are a little more soft and flexible( not enough to bend though). acrylics are stonger ad more painful if they get taken off.





Also if you have a job that includes a lot of typing then get gels cause acrylics chip.





The main reason that people choose acrylics is that they can be a whole lot cheaper.





Gels look a little more natural.

Both gel and acrylic nails feature a very hard substance that adheres to your nail. In my experience, acrylic nails last longer.





If you are only planning on having these put on one time, I don't think it matters. You will have to grow them out or have them filed off, whichever type you choose.
If you don't want your nails to be ruined from the artificial nails then don't go to a budget nail salon! They ruin your nails!





Find a reputable salon with a nail tech that takes pride in her work and does quality nails. See if she offers any type of temporary nails that will last you a couple of weeks and then have her remove them. There will be less damage that way.
I would recommend gel...i had acryllic nails done and it was a disaster...my nails looked disgusting after i took them off....my best friend had gel done while i was back home visiting...which looked really nice...they lasted the whlole 3 weeks i was there...and she didnt have to go back once to have anything done to them.....So gel is what i would recommend....Good Luck..:)
