What acrylic paint additives do you use and what effect do you get from it?
I have some old paintings where I used an additive that made it thick and appear wet after it dries. I don't remember what it was, but I need some texture in my paintingsWhat acrylic paint additives do you use?
Hi Ambrosia, you may have used a GLOSS medium which would have probably thinned the paint, but remained wet looking after it dried. There are also texture mediums (like modeling paste) that are thicker, but i'm not sure if they come in gloss or not.
Another thing you might consider is Glycerin, which will help the acrylics stay wet, so that you can manipulate them for a longer time before they dry, This may also leave a gloss finish, but it's been so long since i've used it, i can't be sure. (Use it sparingly, or they may never dry completely)
good luck, be well and be warm, jbWhat acrylic paint additives do you use?
for having texture u have different ways.u can use salt,grains,sand,...or even u can use the Technics in printing.u can have a shape like stamp and print it on ur work and have different effects.i don't know what could be the texture that u had on ur old works, but may be u had used some glue or something shiny like nail polish!sorry i don't know, anyway, good luck.
