Is it safe to paint with acrylic paint ?

If an artist paints with acrylic paint, is it safe to clean your paintbrushes in the sink. Will the acrylic paint that goes down the drain be toxic ?Is it safe to paint with acrylic paint ?
i wash my paint down the sink but if still unsure

google i did and turns out that it was a yahoo question a year agoIs it safe to paint with acrylic paint ?
No they are not toxic, painting with acrylics is nothing like painting with oils where you would have to worry about how you would dispose of them and making sure the area you are working in is well ventilated. Like watercolors, acrylics are prefectly safe to dispose of down the drain.
Acrylic is sort of like a water-based plastic. Once it dries, it is impossible to make soluble again.

Therefore, if you have chunks of acrylic going down the drain, then it is like shoving pieces of plastic down your drain. If it is not dry, then it is safe.
If you are concerned about the environment, try looking for paints with low vtc. Every year new and less toxic paints are coming out on the market. I'm sure if you google it you will find a large selection to pick from..
Yes..they are......but that doesn't matter so much if it goes down the drain as much it matters if it goes down'yr' food pipe..!!!!!!!!

So beware while doing out with them.......
