What do i use to paint over a bedframe that has acrylic paint on it (ikea)? anyways to make it not plain white

Bought the ODAA bedframe from IKEA. Daughter doesnt want it the plain white but i dont know what we need to do to either repaint (what kind of paint or prep) or add some type design to it to make it more creative. She's a 12 year old tom-boy.What do i use to paint over a bedframe that has acrylic paint on it (ikea)? anyways to make it not plain white
I take it this is a metal bed frame? If so then take a piece of sandpaper %26amp; scratch it up to dull the paint then wash it with soap %26amp; water %26amp; let dry. Buy a spray can of primer then do that next. After that choose your color of paint %26amp; if you can find it in a spray can great if not then rent a spray gun to use after that do anything you want. If your going to use a design that includes painting do it after you primer. Make sure the paint you buy is recommended for metal %26amp; normally i use glossy, it shines more %26amp; leaves a nice smooth finish. What do i use to paint over a bedframe that has acrylic paint on it (ikea)? anyways to make it not plain white
You can ask your kid to choose a pattern and paste it on her headboard. There are many interesting designs that you can paste on a white bed frame to make it interesting. It would be a personal graffiti and would be special to her.
