I'm thinking about alternative surfaces for my pool table. It's wood right now and is slightly warped. I live in Florida where the humidity is insane, so wood isn't a good replacement option anyway. Slate is very expensive and heavy, so here's what I'm thinking:
1. Acrylic or plexiglass sheeting, 1'; thick
2. PermaSlate (Can't find where to buy this!)
3. Hard polyurethane
What do you think? Any ideas? Can I replace my wood surface pool table with acrylic?
Sounds like you are a serious player. Save up for slate because if/when you attempt a jump or masse on acrylic or polyurethane you may encounter a few problems...potential crack? or cue ball may react oddly??? Good luck with your choiceCan I replace my wood surface pool table with acrylic?
yes.
